This chap was trying to have a few winks while London’s tourists (and a group of photographers) harassed the poor thing
The memorial was erected in 1926; dedicated to the five Foot Guards regiments of the Great War. The Guardsmen are Sergeant R. Bradshaw, M.M., Grenadier Guards, Lance Corporal J. S. Richardson Coldstream Guards, Guardsman J. McDonald Scots Guards, Simon McCarthy, Irish Guards and Guardsman A. Comley, Welsh Guards. The figures were cast from guns taken from Germans during the Great War.
