As soon as I saw the project call for entries I knew it would take me ages to post it; here are my finalists (reverse date order) scrabbled together but there’s a group of semifinalists on this archive page …
Which are you’re favourites? Have I missed your favourite? Leave a comment!
This was a manic day in an attempt to boost Oxford Street sales by closing the roads; the yellow in this photo stood out – so as usual I made it stand out more :)
Possibly my actual favourite from the year – this brought a huge grin to my face when I saw it ont he back of the camera – so much light!
My first attempt at releasing a Preset – this is with the pink/white preset; but mainly I love the symmetry and clarity of this photo
A different shot of the The Clock on Wesminster tower (which houses Big Ben the bell)this is on my iPhone screen I love it so much.
This was taken on the Greenwich photowalk; while a lot of people went a different way – this is at a bridge where they load gravel onto a barge ad take it by river; the texture on the wall and the gravel sprinkled along with the general yellow tone made it a winner :)
You can’t beat a good squirrel shot – and this chap came right up to me inquisitively and probably watched himself in the lense; before doing the usual scamper up a tree :)
Looking up Pilgrim Street towards the Cathedral this was a shot I walked passed every day I didn’t have my camera and wished I did; so I made a special trip; hopefully I’ll catch it on a warm sunset too in 2009
I went to Paris with a 14mm (see it below!) and this is my favourite shot from there; taken from Le Granda Arche it shows the the Axe Historique. I love the guy who sat down to each his lunch makes it perfect :D
Uh-oh a self portrait – think it’s because f the Mirror’s diffused ringlight that I wanted this shot – in a 4am hotel room (read the story in the photo’s page) it’s now my avatar everywhere I’ve remembered to update it!
Simple repetition; and the golden colour is the colour of the windows on this building at La Defense; my current backdrop.
This photo made it to ipernitys homepage about horses in October and has therefore got a huge number of hits and also a huge booost in attention over there; a great bunch of people!
I’m just appy with the sarks in this photo; and the orange ; red cutout processing too :)
A stature in Paternoster square this was part of a work team event where a team had to find where this was taken; I love the different angles
Luckily I had the white balance set to blue for this shot down the stairwell at Bergen’s concert hall backstage stairwell; so again I pulled it further :D
What a gorgeous pheasant; there are shots of her chicks on this site as well; taken on my birthday with my dad at Alton’s WWT
Goodwood’s festival of speed brought a lot of opportunity for shots of which this is probably my favourite
This shot (and the one below) gave me the cutout bug; the one above is a sheep by Glyndebourne Opera house; He’s different and isolated; poor chap.
RED DLR one of my highest ranking shots on Flickr (overtaken now) was the result of a TWIPPHOTO contest to look at red; it’s the composition I fell for.
The RAF were 9- years old in 2008; on April 1st the Red Hours did a fly by with 4 Eurofighters; I think I had a shot to post time of 30 minutes; it then made it onto Londonist.
and finally – the photo I loved so much is on canvas on my wall; it’s amazing this is over a year old and the result of t.homas’s help into making a shot better. This was back when i didn’t know what RAW was – I’m going to get a new copy shortly to see if I can improve it (same camera and lense.)
