East Coast MemorialThe memorial commemorates U.S. servicemen who died in coastal waters of the western Atlantic Ocean during World War II. A total of 4,609 names are inscribed on both sides of eight 19-foot-tall granite pylons. The pylons are arranged in two rows of four each. Between the two rows stands a bronze statue of an eagle, erected on a black granite pedestal. The eagle faces the Statue of Liberty in New York harbor. - Wikipedia It's a big difference to the new monuments that stand proud and glossy behind it in downown Manhattan huh
Sticking it to the man
This shot (about 7 months old) is from a cold day with the wind flowing through this horse's hair. He came over to say hello while Dad and I walked through the forest. I think he trusts me, and I trust him. Interestingly I'm watching Walk the Line in the background, and the colour treatment appears to have worn off unexpectedly! - Best Viewed Bigger
